Production Supervisor Swing Shift

Job Description

Barnes Aerospace Ogden division has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor on swing shift. The candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of employees and manufacturing objectives in respective production areas. Core Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees and ensures compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies.

* Understand and manage the schedules and production to meet customer schedules.

* Administers the personnel functions for the department. This includes interviewing and selection of personnel, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action. Focus on UTL and Employee development.

* Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping.

* Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment or knows who to contact for information.

* Anticipates and trouble shoots problems with jobs and/or equipment and coordinates with other departments for resolution.

* Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.

* Coordinates production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transition.

* Ensures that all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.

* Screen, interview, select and onboard new hires, conduct performance appraisals, coach and council employees.

* Champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

* Minimum of five years working in a manufacturing environment

* Three plus years’ experience in supervisory capacity

* Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization

* Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit

* Strong verbal and written communication skills required

* Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach

* Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred
