Position Description

This position reports to the Production Manager and has the authority and responsibility for the overall management, direction and coordination of the assigned Production Cell.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the product line to ensure all work is being accomplished IAW approved technical data.
• Ensure all assigned personnel observe and understand all company policies and procedures. Including established systems compliance, safety practices and procedures, performance of overhaul and repair work IAW approved technical data, human resources policies, etc.
• Review and plan the use of assigned personnel and equipment resources to ensure an efficient organization that can meet the demands of the repair station. This would include the overseeing of the hiring, overtime payroll, vacation scheduling, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers and termination of assigned personnel as well as recommending equipment acquisitions.
• Ensure that all maintenance or alteration processes are appropriately completed and documented on the maintenance forms as set forth in the Repair Station and Quality Manuals (RSQM).
• Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as assigned, are achieved monthly.
• Ensure timely communication of work orders that are late to scheduled need dates and provide recovery plans with estimated completion dates
• Ensure quality of work performed through routine quality checks.
• Ascertain qualifications of assigned technical employees prior to work assignment through tests and evaluation of their previous experience.
• Train, assist and supervise assigned technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
• Manage assigned personnel skills and qualifications to ensure cross training.
• Ensure assigned technical personnel are appropriately trained and/or qualified to perform their job function and the appropriate technical data is available during the performance of their duties.
• Ensure technicians have the appropriate technical data and customer requirements available and followed by personnel during the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration activities.
• Engage team member input to support an employee driven culture which builds employee satisfaction.
• Report and track the flow of assigned products from receipt to shipment to ensure on time delivery utilizing the applicable scheduling tools
• Direct cell leads to employ labor efficiently and manage daily work order flow and task assignments to maintain daily/weekly throughput targets
• Ensure Resource Allocation is scheduled to ensure efficient use of man hours.
• Ensure accurate vouchering of labor hours and address variances to established standards.
• Manage repair orders through Outside Service Vendors (OSV) for assigned product line.
• Handle Shift turnover.
• Ensure the shop equipment and tools are maintained in good working order. Submit maintenance request, as needed.
• Ensure work orders have clear work scopes.
• Ensure required replacement parts/materials are received from Materials on time to avoid delays. Submit request for purchase, as needed.
• Trouble shoot problems and work with Team to remove production Road Blocks
• Facilitate small group problem solving activities.
• Ensure that the assigned work areas are adequately lit, ventilated and housekeeping of all assigned areas is maintain towards 5S.
• Ensure all personnel observe and understand all safety practices and procedures, including proper use and location of firefighting equipment.
Position Requirements

Bachelors Degree or – 5 years’ experience in the same or similar position in an FAA regulated environment.

Familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to perform the assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks
