Description:
Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Product Engineer opening to join our Engineering organization.
Day to Day:
Works closely with customer, quality, and manufacturing to meet customer expectations for OEM product. Responsible for coordinating and managing the development of new products into manufacturing. Primary communication channel for all customer, supplier, and internal reporting relating to given project. Development of meaningful forecasts and strategic decision making for process development. Support creation of program travelers, operational sheets, and rework instructions. Trouble shoots processing problems and supports the Quality Engineers. Ensures all customer required documentation delivered on schedule and right the first time.
What you will do:
* Effectively communicates and manages customer expectations on all aspects of the business (e.g. engineering validation, quality, delivery)
* Lead technical reviews and participate as a reviewer
* Knows when to escalate and communicate issues to all levels within the organization
* Serves as primary point of contact for sub-tier supplier process development and is able to manage supplier to execute to key program milestones
* Review customer specifications and blueprints to determine the procedures, testing, inspections, tooling, gaging and routing sequences required to meet the part requirements
* Able to track and maintain complete project records such as program schedule, running action list, meeting minutes, and all customer required documentation
* Drives resources to successful and timely execution of key program activities to meet customer expectations
* Supports Quality and Manufacturing departments by trouble shooting defects in the process and issues of quality
* Interface with customer representatives to develop new products, participate in joint cost reduction initiatives, and support general customer program requirements
* Prepares shop floor travelers
* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards
* Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements
What you need to succeed:
The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum three (3) years of experience or equivalent experience (preferred). Experience and knowledge of manufacturing process.
The specific SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE required for this position are:
Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate. Experience with Microsoft Project. Good organizational skills. Leadership abilities. Problem-solving abilities. Able to write and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and/or work in-process documents.
Additional Information:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to communicate, read, and write fluently in English.
