Jetstar Holidays is looking for an experienced Product Designer to be part of our team. Our designers play a key role in solving real-life customer problems, and work to define solutions across our product and platform.

Our team operates within Hooroo, a fast growing wholly owned Qantas Group company that provides hotels & holiday packages to Qantas and Jetstar flyers. Despite being only 5 years old Hooroo takes nearly 400,000 bookings a year and has huge potential for continued growth.

Jetstar Holidays is a cross-functional team consisting of product, engineering, design, sales & inventory and marketing. We use modern agile and lean practices to maximise customer value. As a member of our team you will help define and deliver UX design for all aspects of the business to improve the customer experience and as a result our growth. This includes research, sketching, storyboards, user journeys, wireframes, interaction design, pattern libraries, brand assets, and visual design for web, mobile, and email. You will help bring together objectives by collaborating closely with product and commercial team members, listening to our customers and by pairing closely with developers to implement from sketch to code.

Your main accountabilities include:

* Be the customer advocate for the Jetstar Holidays team

* Explore UX challenges and create intuitive, accessible and seamless experiences for our users, always with the end-to-end customer journey in mind

* Lead design practices within your team including sketch sessions, customer journeys, user flows, wireframes, visual and interaction design across all touch points

* Run various user research initiatives including writing discussion guides, moderating testing sessions and conducting interviews

* Draw on data and user insights to validate ideas and identify challenges and opportunities

* Work collaboratively with engineers to implement from sketch to code

* Manage brand alignment and consistency throughout the customer experience

* Share creative excellence and enthusiasm for meaningful design. Remain up-to-date on industry trends and UX practices

* Be involved in team stand-ups, working group discussions, retrospectives, showcases, and presentations

* Participate in team processes and standards, while promoting process improvement where appropriate

* Collaborate and consult with the other members of the team and, also, other parts of Jetstar and Hooroo as required.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* 5+ years’ experience in a dedicated digital design role, working with web apps or e-commerce sites

* An exceptional portfolio of work and a keen eye for detail

* Experience with a range of user research methodologies and practices

* A healthy dose of empathy, pragmatism and creativity that they can bring to the problem-solving process

* The ability to communicate design decisions and customer priorities to a cross functional team

* The ability to think clearly, use initiative and work independently within a dynamic and fast paced environment

* A collaborative approach

* Strong time management and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple streams of work at the same time

* Experience with a range of design and prototyping tools including Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Invision and Axure or related programs

* Working knowledge or understanding of basic data and funnel analysis, including experience with Google Analytics, Omniture (Adobe Analytics) or related services

* Working knowledge or understanding of HTML & CSS
