Barnes Aerospace MRO East Granby has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Process Engineer with a solid background in Engineering who enjoys a diverse, fast-paced work environment. The Process Engineer will plan, execute and direct activities associated with the development, application and maintenance of manufacturing standards for the manufacturing processes. Required Skills
Core Responsibilities:
* Review deviations and apply fundamental engineering principles to solve technical problems in collaboration with operations and engineering team.
* Interpret repair requirements and implement repair techniques in adherence with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
* Develop new repair techniques to reduce shop floor hours and improve throughput.
* Support shop with special processes such as: EB Weld, Heat Treatment, Plasma, and Water Jet Strip.
* Assist in review of work instructions for adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Participate in Root Cause Corrective action process to investigate internal and external warranties.
* Mentor/Train shop floor personnel on process standards and repair techniques.
* Participate in cross-functional teams on process control, improvement, and optimization projects; participate in other BES activities (i.e. Kaizen, Baseline, Production, and Preparation Process (3P).
Required Experience
Qualifications:
* One to three years of related experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in an overhaul and repair operations.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees, suppliers and customers.
* Demonstrated ability to work with team environment.
* Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; expertise in AutoCAD required.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodology (6-sigma, 6-S, Continuous Improvement) a plus.
Education Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
