Oaklands Global are currently working with a leading Aerospace Communications company based in London and assisting within the recruitment of Principal Test Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer to join an exciting and growing company.
Primary Responsibilities of the Principal Test Engineer will be to;
- Lead a team of Senior Test Engineers and Test Engineers to execute, analyse, and deliver reports for System and Acceptance testing campaigns.
- Produce document templates to support the generation of industry standard documentation
- Effectively communicate results from the testing to management.
- Chair meetings involving sub-contractors and/or customers.
- Communicate and build relationships with internally and externally interfaces.
- Act as a lead reviewer/Quality assurance for all documentation produced by the senior engineers
- Act as technical author to the test team
- Chair team meetings and assist in the resource management of test campaigns.
- Mentor Senior Test Engineers and Test Engineers and identify training needs and performance issues
- Support key meetings throughout the test process (K.O, TRR, PTR and progress meetings)
- Production of test plans specific to the airline.
- Interaction with the airlines for running the customer acceptance test demonstrations
- Support the execution of test cases, the capture of test results and supporting data.
- Identify required configurations and changes to configurations to support test campaigns.
- Act as point of delegation to the Head of Test and Verification Services
Technical Skills:
- Related work experience and a degree in a technical subject (Engineering/Physics/Computing/Networking/Electronics.).
- Possess in-depth knowledge of satellite systems, or telecommunication networks (LTE/3G/etc.).
- Experience in leading in a technical environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using HP-ALM/JIRA packages.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP-IP/DNS/DHCP/Network Routing/ICMP).
- Quality Assurance and Project Management experience would be advantageous.
- Experience testing SatCom/Mobile systems.
