Job Summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principle Systems Engineer to join our Commercial Avionics Pro Line Fusion Embedded Display Systems team. Put your avionics experience to work designing advanced avionics solutions for new aircraft pursuits, aircraft programs currently in development, and the wide fleet of Business and Regional aircraft currently in operation.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of our development and aircraft certification efforts for the various department programs. Job responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Serve as lead systems engineer with oversight and guidance of program level systems scope, schedule, budget and risks and opportunities

* Coordination with customers and or dealers on requirements and system design

* Development of system level specifications covering a wide breadth of avionics subsystems

* Development of system level test procedures to be used for formal systems verification

* Perform system level testing to demonstrate proper system behavior and satisfy certification requirements

* Support customer/dealer with aircraft installation either remotely or on site

* Develop and manage the customer relationship as part of the project leadership team

* Investigate and troubleshoot both customer and internal issues

* Provide support to the project certification effort ( compliance to DO-297 and ARP-4754A)

* Mentor and coach less experienced engineers

* Lead effort to improve systems processes, tools, etc.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

* This position requires experience in business and regional avionics product design and system engineering, with strong knowledge/expertise with flight displays and EICAS.

* The ideal candidate should have experience with the Fusion system, specific experience with an IMA system is highly desired.

* Highly qualified candidates will have direct experience leading avionics bid and proposals and developing product line avionics systems.

* Individuals interested in this position must be comfortable working in a team environment and be very comfortable coaching and mentoring.

* Because the need for collaboration in the position is high, candidates will need to show ability to be flexible and willingness to collaborate to find optimal solutions.

* The soft skills of good leadership will be equally important as the expression of technical aptitude.
