Job Summary:
Under very limited supervision with considerable latitude in assignment, perform engineering work such as interpreting system requirements, deriving GPS receiver end architecture (RF) from the requirements, simulating and validating the architecture, translating the architecture into schematic and board layout, analyzing the signal integrity of the board layout, directing the debug & test of the design, analyze the test results and develop hardware documentation. To accomplish an assignment it is expected that the candidate should be able to investigate literature, patents and current practices relevant to a solution, define theoretical bases and principles, and apply these to the solution. The position requires one to plan and direct major phases of projects and to coordinate the efforts of engineers and support staff. Job requires the ownership of the GPS RF front-end design from requirements identification through to integration, design validation test, early production, and production test. A knowledge of the hardware design process from hardware requirements specifications, trade studies, prototype development, PDR, verification testing, CDR, TRR, acceptance testing, PRR and full rate production is a requirement.
