We are seeking an account manager who is a self-starter, a leader, willing to work remote and able to develop customer relationships at executive leadership levels in this rewarding role! This individual will be responsible for leading the development of business strategies and customer engagement plans for our executive leadership and business development teams, to strengthen our relationship and grow opportunities with the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and Coalition forces worldwide. This position can be based in Cedar Rapids, however Collins Aerospace would consider a home office for the right candidate.

This position can be based in Cedar Rapids, however Collins Aerospace would consider a home office for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities

The position is responsible for supporting the Simulation and Training Systems portfolio within Collins Aerospace Mission Systems. The main responsibilities for the Account Manager include:

Lead the business development activities for LVC related opportunities

*

Manage the interface between Collins Aerospace and customer executive offices to build strong customer intimacy across our organizations.

*

Develop and implement customer strategies to maximize sales opportunities and customer satisfaction consistent with corporate goals and objectives.

*

Understand customer strategic direction and ensure it correlates with business unit strategies.

*

Develop and maintain customer insight for early identification and shaping of customer requirements and for influencing our internal investments and strategies.

*

Prepare and deliver Collins Aerospace capability briefings.

*

Guide teams on interfacing with your customers in their pursuit and order capture activities.

*

Provide leadership to program and product managers to meet key development and delivery objectives while maximizing customer satisfaction.

*

Ensure post-contract activities support Collins Aerospace long terms goals and objectives.

*

Cultivate relationships with industry partners; recommend acquisitions and alliances (teaming).

*

Maintain key contacts among government, corporate, and professional groups to promote current and future business opportunities.

*

Work with our international focused teams to identify foreign military sales opportunities.

*

Support market and competitive analyses.

*

Provide guidance in Defense related trade shows, communications, and marketing publications.

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications – External

* This position is telecommuting

* U.S. citizenship is required.

* Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET Security Clearance is required; having a current SECRET or above security clearance is highly desired

* Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or six years of related experience is required; must have sufficient technical background to understand customer needs and Collins Aerospace solutions

* Recent experience working with the U.S. Air Force and / or U.S. Navy is highly desired; the ideal candidate would be an O-6/GS-15.

* Five or more years of experience in fighter operations, weapons delivery, and/or training operations is desired; fighter pilot, flight training, and/or F-35 experience is highly desired.

* Be comfortable with strategic/critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, debate, challenging customer thinking, and fact-based analysis of alternatives is required.

* A working knowledge of industry business case analysis and pursuit concepts as well as U.S. DOD business enterprise to include the DOD acquisition process is desired.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required; ability to brief large audiences and senior officials with confidence and poise is required.

* Ability to support domestic and occasional international travel is required.
