Primary Function:

Receive parts from customers and/or vendors, and other material from suppliers. Inspect all items for damage. Perform necessary inspection procedures to insure that incoming parts meet all required specifications and standards. Prepare repair documents utilizing ACI computer software and required procedure(s). Become competent in the use of measuring devices and hand tools. Become familiar with ISO policy and procedures. Maintain inventory and appropriate stock levels.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Log in, inspect and analyze parts that are shipped/mailed in from other companies or clients for service.

2. Read repair instructions and produce repair (Traveler) documents.

3. Contact customer for information, etc. Be able to communicate with internal and external customers.

4. Requisition detail components and maintain inventory/stock levels.

5. Work at a computer console entering parts. Become familiar with computer software system.

6. Be able to use measuring tools, e.g. calipers, micrometers, etc.

7. At times, using a power hand tool to mark parts.

8. Use chemical cleaners on parts.

9. Occasionally sandblast parts.

10. Have knowledge of and understand the ISO Quality Policy.

11. Have knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming product.

12. Have knowledge of and understand the ISO Procedures that apply to their specific job.

13. Maintain specifications/ manuals.

14. Maintain inventory of rotable material and stock verification.

15. Assist other inspectors and employees as needed.

16. Use protective equipment when appropriate.

17. Have knowledge of and understanding of Appendix A. Safety Procedures.

18. Keep your work area clean and orderly.

19. Obey company rules and comply with the required dress code.

20. All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements

1. Lift parts up to 80lbs. Always seek help when handling large parts.

2. Operate fork lift.

3.

4. Move (using a hand truck or fork lift) boxes up to several 100lbs. (always get help).

5. Operate motor vehicle or truck when picking up parts from or delivering to a customer.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

1. Must have H. S. Diploma or GED.

2. Must speak, read and write the English language.

3. Should have common computer software skills.

4. Should have knowledge of the use of measuring devices (micrometers, c-micrometers, bore gauges, etc.), or the ability to quickly learn.

5. Should have intermediate mathematical skills (Concepts and calculations involving decimals, percentages, fractions).

6. Prior work experience in receiving/shipping/inventory is helpful but not required.

7. Must be capable of reading blueprints.

8. Have knowledge and understanding of the Domestic repair station and quality manual (DRSQM)

9. Have knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming product.

10. Have knowledge and understanding of SFAR/88 Related operating rules

11. Have knowledge and understanding of Suspected Unapproved Parts

12. Have knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures applicable to the job (or jobs) being performed.

13. Have an understanding of how to look up MSDS on any chemical you may come in contact with.

14. Initial and Recurrent RCRA Hazardous waste management / 40 CFR 265.16
