Description
Position Summary: Operate of tend painting machines to paint surfaces of airplane parts. Adjust controls on infrared ovens, heat lamps, portable ventilators and exhaust units to speed drying between coats. Touch up spots that may have been missed. Apply identifying items to finished products using paint sprayers. Research and understand FAA technical data relevant to assigned tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Must have mechanical knowledge including the use, repair, and maintenance of machines and tools applicable to painting
* Must be able to visually discriminate between colors
* Must have precision control and arm-hand steadiness
* Must be able to determine proper equipment and tools needed to perform a task
* Must be able to conduct tests and inspections of products and processes in order to determine quality and performance
* Must have the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers which make sense
* All work must meet strict Federal Aviation Regulations and requirements
* This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to submit to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
* Minimum of 1-3 years aviation or automotive painting experience
* Large commercial aircraft experience preferred
* Must be flexible to work any shift
* H.S. diploma or G.E.D. certificate
* Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, verification of credentials, and a urinary pre-employment drug test per DOT regulations
* Attention to detail is imperative
* Must be able to multi-task
* Excellent manual dexterity in both hands
* Must be able to comprehend written and spoken English
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product.
