Job Description

As a member of the Assembly department, the Aerospace Painter coats the surface of aerospace parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, primer, varnish, enamel, or lacquer using HVLP spray gun. The Aerospace Patiner will select and mix proper coating material per manufactures recommendations and customer specifications and processes. Areas inaccessible to a hand sprayer will be coated using brush or roller. The Aerospace Patiner will monitor and verify finish quality in accordance with customers specifications, processes, & BQMS as well as adhear to all EPA and Pugent Sound Clean Air Agentcy rules, regulations & procedures.

* Prepare and paint detail aircraft parts to planning, drawing, and customers specification requirements
* Select materials for hand or machine applications; determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating thickness
* Verifiy quality of applications by using viscometers, mil thickness gage, tape test (wet & dry) per customers specifications
* Record and maintain detailed records of coating useage, application times, expiration dates, & filter changes
* Ensure compliance with proper and recommended use, storage and disposal of harzardous materials such as sealants, paints, strippers, filters, and other chemicals used per EPA and Pugent Sound Clean Air Agency
* Follow all PCC Painting Processes and Procedures including applicable Business Quality Management System procedures
* Follow equipment and tool standard procedures; maintain tools and storage cabinets in a clean and orderly fashion
