Operations Systems Specialist

About the role:

In this role, you are both a technical and functional expert in core Airline Crew Management systems.

You will have or will gain strong functional and business knowledge about these systems, as well as have excellent technical skills that will allow you to configure and develop solutions to meet business needs.

Collaboration is a key component of this role, amongst your team and across the wider business.

You are a conduit between IT, system vendors and the team members within the (Operations Control Centre) OCC. You will gather and translate business requirements into solutions, translate the technical to the end user and ensure our systems are set up to support our team and enhance operational capability.

This means you will be able to see the end goal and have an understanding of the steps required to meet the goal and accept any challenges that may arise during the process and seek positive solutions.

You will work as part of the Network Operations Systems and Solutions team on a number of exciting initiatives, including the implementation of new crew management solutions and managing upgrades and changes to existing solutions to support new crew enterprise agreements.

What you’ll need:

Technical/development skills, such as:

* Oracle PL/SQL technology in writing queries, PL/SQL procedures, views and database architecture

* Unix shell scripting and file systems

* Oracle and Jasper reporting languages

* Weblogic deployment and management

* Java, HTML scripting

Ideally you will also have knowledge and experience in the business and technical domains of Airline Crew Management systems such as Sabre AirCrews, Sabre Crew Manager and Kronos Resource Planning solutions.
