Call-to-Action Items: Apply NOW!, Next Steps, Sign-up for Talent Community, Referral Request, Connect with PAC via Social Media Job Summary: The Sr. Network Engineer (Routing & Switching) will deploy, document and troubleshoot engineering integration projects as part of Tier 3 in the CPC Customer Performance Center. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Integration * Complete integration projects and tasks to a defined scheduled and keep project engineers updated with progress. * Provide technical input and recommendations on proposals / projects. * Ensure proposed solutions include monitoring, reporting, backup, redundancy and are scalable and meet the needs of the business. * Document all changes made to the network / devices. * Create documentation for Tier 3 on deployment, monitoring, operation and advanced troubleshooting steps. * Create / update documentation for Tier 2 CPC teams to ensure successful operational handover. * Provide training to Tier 2 teams as part of operational handover. * Lead key process improvement initiatives to support business continuity and reliability of system infrastructure. Develop recommendations and execute systems solutions for enhancing current processes. * Analyze, monitor, document and troubleshoot business processes for optimal system performance, compliance with customer requirements and management awareness. * Assist with budgeting / forecasting requirements. Customer Support * Provide highest level escalation response to trouble tickets in a timely fashion and in compliance with CPA standards. * Complete change requests / tasks on time and to schedule * Maintain monitoring and alerting systems ensuring that changes are reflected in tool sets. * Work with 3rd parties and suppliers on integration tasks. * Provide on-call 24/7/365 advanced troubleshooting support on production systems, services & infrastructure (in rotation with other staff). KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum 5-7 years of work experience as a network engineer working with Cisco or Juniper network based environments. * Cisco CCNP or equivalent ISP experience * Cisco ASR routers. Cisco Catalyst 2k,3k, Nexus 3k, 5k, 9k class switches * Microtik access controllers * Extensive experience using the following protocols TCP/IP, SSL, LACP, LLDP/CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, HSRP, GLBP, SNMP, STP, VPC, MSS, VDC, IGP, RTP, SIP, RADIUS, TACACS+, Policy based routing * DNS * Enterprise Storage (NAS, SAN) Nutanix, NetApp preferred * VMWare * F5 Load balancer, irules / policies, LTM, ASM, route domains, Web Application Firewalls * Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX and Palo Alto Firewalls * NMS (Solarwinds, Cacti, Libre) * Juniper switches * Strong customer-service orientation * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Understanding of software as a service (SAS) * Excellent documentation skills * Excellent listening and interpersonal skills * Strong Linux experience * Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language * Ability to conduct research into new technologies and products * Highly self-motivated and directed * Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail * Ability to analyze issues, use sound judgment, and solve complex problems * Proficient in multi-tasking * Able to prioritize and execute tasks * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment across multiple timezones * Understanding of development and project management processes and methodologies * Understanding of industry trends as well as successful strategies and product roadmaps * Strong strategic planning capabilities with proven hands on implementation experience * Strong troubleshooting / problem solving * ITIL v3 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * College diploma or university degree with a Technical Major, such as Engineering or Computer Science; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement. * At least three years’ experience in engineering integration position. * At least five years’ experience working in ISP environment with Satellite or wireless communications an advantage. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * Occasional inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings. * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components. * Some domestic (<10%) and international (<5%) travel may be required for the purpose of cross training, capacity management & meeting with off-site personnel/management. * May be required to undertake temporary work assignments in other states, counties or countries as operational requirements dictate. * Current passport in good standing. ***Panasonic is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
