Networks Senior Analyst Jetstar

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will analyse network deployment strategies and tactics in complex markets, support process reviews, budgets, fleet growth/reduction business cases and generally perform any analysis that would affect the short, medium or long term allocation of aircraft to routes.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Proactively develop and analyse scenarios on potential allocation of new capacity or reallocation of existing capacity by market to optimise profitability and return on invested capital
• Evaluate competitor strategies as well as schedules and capacity by market
• Complex evaluation, execution and implementation of projects involving cross functional teams including budgets, targets and appropriate KPIs and establish positive network change driving profit, customer and front line staff improvements
• Engage with and provide data support to key stakeholders across the organisation including but not limited to airline commercial heads, operational areas, revenue management, government relations, marketing, and communications
• Prepare documentation and communication materials up to board level to promote understanding and agreement to recommendations and to communicate progress towards assigned project outcomes
• Incorporating economic and strategic rationale of stakeholder areas in business case analyses (airport charges, government relations, tourism entities, etc.)
• Analysing seasonal capacity variations using complex historical and forward modelling to predict demand trends and profit opportunity
 Manage the preparation of executive reports on Jetstar’s route profitability
 Contribute to the skills development of analysts & graduates within the network development team and overall networks department
 Participate in Qantas Group network assessments and recommend the best possible balanced group outcomes, applying cross brand modelling and competitive positioning techniques.

To be successful in this role, you don’t have to be from the Aviation industry, but you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Proven ability to interact with multiple sources of data, build complex quantitative connections and extract relevant insights to inform hypothesis and recommendations
• Build and seek to continuously improve financial / strategy models
• Proven ability to also consider diverse qualitative and strategic inputs to make top quality decisions
• Ability to work diplomatically across cultures with local and international based stakeholders
• Ability to communicate effectively and get to the core quickly
• Capability of effectively working in a dynamic business with evolving challenges and priorities
• Being degree qualified in Finance, Commerce or Engineering will be highly beneficial.
