We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer III for our Power Distribution - Tulsa, OK location.

Under general supervision, the this role is responsible for the mechanical design, layout and packaging of power equipment and other shipboard electronic systems. This position will generate equipment layouts that satisfy system requirements in accordance with governing contracts and applicable commercial and military specifications. Mechanical designs account for tradeoffs among thermal, mass properties, structural and manufacturing considerations.

Responsibilities:

Interprets customer specifications to define requirements for mechanical designs.

*

Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal and specifications to determine feasibility of design or application.

*

Generates project cost estimates and selects components for various designs.

*

Utilizes the Solidworks 3D CAD system to create mechanical layouts, models and drawings.

*

Maintains close coordination with electrical engineering group for all support tasks.

*

Perform static and dynamic structural analysis using finite element analysis tools.

*

Provide Thermal Management Systems (TMS) simulation/analysis optimizations for electronic power and other shipboard systems.

*

Assist in creation of viable project schedule and responsible for submitting designs, on schedule.

*

Develop technical content for analysis and design reports.

*

Provides support to fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

*

Develops detailed fabrication and assembly drawings and performs tolerances analysis.

*

Responsible for selecting materials and manufacturing processes in compliance with specifications and environmental requirements as applicable.

*

Uses established and well defined engineering procedures.

*

Provide engineering support, as required, to all departments and at customer’s facilities as needed.

*

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Project or Lead Engineer.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology curriculum, from four-year College or University.

* Must have 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

* Must have knowledge of Mil-Specifications and/or commercial standards (e.g. ASTM, SAE, ASME) for design, hardware, materials and processes, and testing.

* Design/manufacturing experience of power generation/distribution/conversion products is preferred.

* Excellent experience with 3D CAD and CFD / FEA analysis software tools (Dassault Solidworks preferred, including analytical software suites).

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Proficient experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

* Excellent experience with design and/or structural analysis of electronics and cooling systems.

* Work is typically conducted in an office environment with frequent visits to Production and Fabrication areas for design assistance.

* Sustained visual/mental attention to critical details, accuracy and time constraints are required.

* Able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
