The Electronic Systems Segment (ESS) provides a broad range of aerospace systems, security and detection systems, and pilot training.

The
Mechanical Engineer III role is a design position on our Radar Weaponry Systems Mechanical Engineering team. Our team sizes are small, allowing you to have more of a broad range of responsibilities including product design, analysis, manufacturing and test. In this position, you will have primary engineering responsibility for mechanical design tasks such as requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, component 3D CAD modeling, data collection, and product documentation for our warfighter solutions.

You will demonstrate success by:

* Scheduling, costing, and holding technical responsibility at the component or subsystem level

* Prototyping and Testi component parts and assemblies

* Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems

* Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems

* Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews

* Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews

* Direct Designers/ Technicians as part of a design team.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

*

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance. You must be able to obtain additional clearances as required by programs.

*

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree preferred

* A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a related mechanical engineering field

* Design, development and/or testing experience with electro-mechanical/ electronic assemblies

* 4 years’ 3D CAD modeling experience

* Good understanding of heat transfer principles; experience in thermal design

* Solidworks CAD software experience is highly prized.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and the ability to travel up to 10%.
