Electronic Systems Segment (ESS) provides a broad range of aerospace systems, security and detection systems, and pilot training. We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer in our Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, located in Plano, TX.

The Mechanical Engineer II is a secondary level position within our mechanical engineering team, with related experience over a broad range of disciplines including product design, analysis, manufacturing and testing. In this role, you are responsible for mechanical design tasks such as technology research, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, component 3D CAD modeling, data collection, and product documentation.
You will demonstrate success through:
* Design and documentation of component parts
* Schedule, cost, and technical responsibility at the component or subsystem level
* Prototype and Test component parts and assemblies
* Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems
* Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems
* Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews
* Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews
* Learn and follow company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.
* Direct Designers/ Technicians as part of a design team.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications
* Must be a U.S. citizen with an existing DoD clearance with a current 5-year update and the ability to obtain any addition clearances as required
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
* A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering field
* Previous experience in design, development and/or testing experience with electro-mechanical/ electronic assemblies
* 1 years of 3D CAD modeling experience is required
* Excellent problem solving skills, creativity
* Good understanding of heat transfer principles
* Ability to learn independently; research new technologies; develop creative solutions to complex problems
* Proficient with Microsoft Office products
* Physical requirements include the ability to travel up to 10% and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
