As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will… * Design and analyze the structural and thermal performance of electronic systems. * Participate in proposal development as a mechanical packaging expert, steering the mechanical design, thermal, vibration, and other environmental design philosophy in the preferred direction and advising team members of the risks related to trade study choices. * Develop and/or review design concepts, CAD models, ICD’s, and assembly drawings. * Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures * Prepare data items for projects including thermal, vibration, mechanical tolerance, and others * Be responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and technical requirements. * Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews Minimum qualifications to be considered… * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution (Masters preferred) * 5 or more years of experience in mechanical packaging/analysis of aerospace electronics. * Be knowledgeable in the application and interpretation of GD&T principles in ASME Y14.5M-1994 and later * Proficiency in Worst Case, RSS, and 6-Sigma tolerance analysis of mechanical parts * Proficiency in the use of NX (Version 7.5.5 or later) for complex 3-D part and assembly modeling * Demonstrated proficiency in the creation and composition of engineering drawings according to applicable Military and Industry standards using the NX Drafting application * Be familiar with basic electrical engineering principles, and the application and use of electrical connectors and other interconnect products. * Familiar with machining processes, and have demonstrated ability to design products that are producible by these processes * Proficiency in ANSYS (Finite Element Analysis (FEA) * Desire for proficiency in ANSYS ICEPAK (CFD / thermal analysis) * US Citizen/Green Card Holder EOE/AA/Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/Veteran
