The Carrier Compression Technology team has a unique opportunity for a driven and self-directed Product Development Engineer with a proven track record to work on advanced Centrifugal Compressor programs. The position will be based in Syracuse, NY and collaborate with resources and stakeholders globally.

Key responsibilities focus on design and development of Centrifugal Compressors for next generation high efficiency chiller products while collaboratively applying state of the art Model Based Development techniques, (detailed knowledge of FEA helpful though not required.)

Strong experience designing turbomachinery or other high speed rotating equipment required. Exposure to common manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, CNC machining, dynamic balancing, lubrication systems and bearing installation techniques is valued for effective decision making.

Core Responsibilities

Lead dedicated design/drafting teams in compressor design from concept through production launch; Work with a global team of engineers, designers and technical experts integrating new technologies within Greenfield compression projects. Applying and improving existing product development techniques for, robust design, manufacturability, and lowering product cost while meeting program requirements.

Experience

Candidates should have 7+ years’ experience in the design of turbomachinery or high speed rotating equipment and be able to provide evidence of technical depth. Effective communication skills, teamwork and the ability to work in a multi-cultural global organization are essential.
