Currently hiring for a Mechanical Assembler 2 at our Brashear location in Pittsburgh, PA

About the Role – Mechanical Assembler 2

Join the L3 Technologies Brashear Team as a Mechanical Assembler 2. In this role you will work with an Aerospace & Defense company to process, assemble, modify, rework, test and repair mechanical assemblies. Work from samples, diagrams, and oral and written instructions. Process, assemble and mount components. Use adhesive compounds to assure components will not shift.

Specific Responsibilities

Interpret drawings

*

Understand specifications, machining tolerances, and mechanical measurements

*

Use machine shop tools, such as drill press, milling machine, lathe, to assist with assembly.

*

Fit and assemble precision parts, using calibrated equipment.

*

Use measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, tape measurer, scale and dial indicators.

*

Assist in precision mechanical alignments and in-process testing.

*

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Desired Experience, Skills and Education

• High school diploma
• Mechanical or machine shop experience a plus
• Ability to work from blueprints
• Ability to read basic measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, scale, dial indicators.
• Must be able to read and understand production schematic and drawings.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of time
• Must be able to lift 50lb
• Fine motor dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Must be able to bend and move with no limitations.
• Due to the nature of our work as a DoD contractor, applicants must be US Citizens
