Maintenance Control Centre Duty Engineer

(based in Budapest)

The MCC Duty Engineer is responsible for continuous monitoring of aircraft technical status, ensuring correct 24 hours short term maintenance planning and AOG recovery, providing immediate real time expert advice and guidance to Wizz Air pilots on interpretation of the MEL dispatch and technical trouble shooting. The role is the primary interface between the maintenance department and the flight crew on a day to day basis. The role reports to the MCC supervisor and ultimately to the Head of Maintenance.

Responsibilities:

* Live monitoring of a/c condition using AIRMAN and/or aircraft condition data from post-flight reports through ACARS data transfer.

* Technical delay recording control in real time with the Operations Control Center (OCC).

* Issuing report twice a day to cover shift handovers listing the open MEL/CDL’s, limitation on aircraft, repetitive defect checks, aircraft out/back of service, technical delays, reportable occurrences, pending repairs status and DY Check last accomplishment time.

* Work in cooperation with Operations Control Center (OCC) to update the defect rectification plan as a result of changes to the schedule.

* Request assistance from TC, STC or part 21 DO for approval condition whenever a/c damages are not covered with approved documentation data and/or when intensive troubleshooting is required.

* Ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, including daily and weekly checks. This includes the monitoring of all aircraft condition data to understand the status of the fleet, and develop necessary actions to rectify findings.

* MCC shall lead the daily conference call with maintenance providers, AOG desk and Short Term planning.

* Monitor MEL/CDL/critical deferred defects across the fleet and ensure plans are in place to rectify each within the allowed time limit in coordination with our maintenance providers.

* Requesting MEL extensions whenever there is a risk that MEL rectification could not be performed within respective time frame.

* Track and analyze repetitive and recurring defects across the fleet.

* Ensure maintenance resource is located for all non-scheduled arising in the most expeditious manner possible.

* Manage the AOG recovery process including AOG spares request initiation and follow up.

* Assure precise and on time communication regarding all technical related schedule disruptions.

Requirements:

* University/college degree

* EASA PART-66 CAT-B1 or CAT-B2 certified on A320 family

* Five years relevant work experience in line maintenance, including depth troubleshooting experience. Maintenance control experience is an advantage.

Previous experience within a PART 145, PART M organizations and familiarity with EASA Part M and Part 145 requirements.
