Position Description

Provide Procurement support to specific lines within the Engines BU, through timely processing of reservations through user generated BOMs, stock level maintenance, order processing and expediting, and ensuring that suppliers deliver quality goods by the required delivery date.
Position Requirements

Key responsibilities and duties:

Support the business in its procurement needs;

Carry out order placement and associated activities and proactively expedite the resulting orders;

Maintain and further supplier relationships;

Ensure that policies and operational practices provide effective procurement of products and services;

Obtain best value for money for purchases undertaken through effective negotiation with potential suppliers;

Ensure compliance with internal Financial Authority Regulations;

Monitor supplier performance & manage supplier performance improvement;

Ongoing monitoring of the pricing structure;

To continually develop product and supplier market knowledge;

Engage, support and obtain agreement from key stakeholders in respect of Supply agreement implementation;

Liaise with the Commercial department to ensure the credibility of suppliers;

Contribute towards maintenance of the Vendor List;

Carry out transactional activities on Navixa and maintain compliance with procedures in the Vector Business Manual;

Maintain the quality requirements of the business in relation to procurement activities and apply best industry practice;

Monitor the performance of current suppliers and the receipting activity and feedback observations to the Purchasing Manager on a regular basis;

Monitor levels of stock for designated line, ensuring safety stock of critical or high use parts is maintained, while actively seeking to reduce aged inventory through either “repair by replacement” (via Material Review Board), sale to external customers, or by other disposal means;

Propose adjustment of Min/Max levels to Purchasing Manager, to ensure practical stock levels moving forward which would involve increase of stock of some parts while decreasing stock of other parts, based on usage and forecast;

Cross train with other areas to be able to cover during peaks of work or periods of absence, while maintaining and ensuring adequate levels of support to the business;

Support Material Review Boards (MRBs) to provide suggestions to the Business regarding alternative use of material or possible alternatives, in order to reduce cost or turn time;

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
Essential

Good IT skills include wide experience of word documents, Excel spreadsheets (including pivot tables and charts) and PowerPoint.

General commercial awareness.

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
Desirable

CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified and/or equivalent.

Experience:

Previous procurement experience with responsibility for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings.

Knowledge of procurement tools & techniques.

Knowledge of financial, legal and corporate social responsibility issues.
