Material Controller Assistant

British International Helicopter Services Limited are currently looking to recruit a Material Controllers’ Assistant.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team of professionals based in Plymouth.

 

The successful candidate will be a motivated professional with high individual standards.

 

Shift patterns/hours: Mon-Fri.  37.5 hrs per week.

 

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the successful candidate must be: punctual, conscientious and have the capability to organise their workload and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

We are looking for an effective team player, who is capable of working as part of a small dedicated team and who has the ability to interact well with their colleagues and the wider business.

Primary function: Supporting the Engineering and Operations Department which will include:

Check daily requisitions for all operational bases.

Order consumable and non-stock items and parts, POL, nuts, bots washers etc.

Progress chase orders with vendors

Check and clear invoice queries with accounts

Liaise with vendors to resolve discrepancies with deliveries

Assist with general duties as required with the smooth running of the Logistics and stores function within the company

 

Essential:

• Previous purchasing experience
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to communicate with other departments and vendors as well as being computer literate
• Previous logistics and procurement experience

 

Desirable:

•   Aviation background.
