Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
To maintain, repair and set up Production centric equipment, machines and systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Performs or assists a higher grade mechanic in the repair and maintenance of a variety of conventional machine tools and mechanical equipment by disassembling and locating the cause of operational difficulties and repairing or replacing worn or broken parts.

1. Works from general procedures and in accordance with standard or recognized methods and repair practices to make decisions regarding diagnosis of trouble, replacing parts and assembling to OEM tolerances.

2. Confers with Maintenance Management concerning problems found, repairs needed and faulty operational practices.

3. Document work performed as required.

II. Adjusts and aligns sheaves, clutches, brakes, rebuilds pumps and other machine elements. Conducts inspections on equipment and reports findings regarding additional work and repairs to leadership.

III. Operates cranes, hoists, forklifts, cutting torch, block & tackle, moving trucks and heavy jacks when repairing or setting up machinery.

IV. Operates drill presses, grinders, band saws and uses hand tools in repairing and installing machinery and equipment.

V. Uses measuring tape, micrometers, calipers, levels and other measurement devices in performing duties.

VI. Responsible for quality of own work.
