SARGENT AEROSPACE & DEFENSE
Purpose & Scope:
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Company training program and gain exposure to all areas of the organization, including manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, and sales. The individual may travel to our Corporate Office in Connecticut or one or two of our other facilities for training.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Perform engineering analysis (stress, FEA, fatigue) and apply problem-solving methods to support new product development and/or sustaining production of existing designs
* Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to facilitate inspection and manufacturing
* Review designs for completeness and proper application of engineering principles
* Write test plans and test reports in support of new programs
* Interact with customers to clarify design intent and technical requirements
* Maintain accurate, orderly project records, including design and test data, customer specifications, directives, etc.
* Direct designers and drafters in design concepts and optimization
* Provide direction and assist in qualification test programs
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
* Working knowledge of 3D modeling software (Pro/Engineer or CREO preferred)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent MS Office skills
* Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Mechanical aptitude displayed through personal hobbies/projects/work experience
* Familiarity with metal forming and manufacturing methods and processes
* Experience with document control and configuration management
* MathCAD software familiarity
* ERP system experience
ITAR Requirement: Employees will participate in understanding, implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Policy in accordance with AS-9100C and/or ISO-9001:2008 requirements.
