Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to support the electrical production (harnesses and electrical Control units) and to develop/update the documentation package required in the manufacturing. In this sense some of the main activities will be:
- Provide technical expertise, advice and guidance to the engineering group & production team (blue collars)
- Ensure adequate resource and expertise is provided for projects, production support and quality incident investigations
- Effectively manage and communicate the activities being undertaken by the group
- Assess viability of new processes and projects
- Analyze customer product definition dossier // industrial datas.
- Ensure the integration of the available customer technical documentation into the internal.
- Set up the manufacturing/inspection dossier for internal production (manufacturing orders, electrical technical instructions, electrical diagrams, Electrical functional tests…).
- Define and set-up the adequate production tools when required, as well as test means.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Additionally, depending on the projects and its characteristics, typical functions of project management could be required, in order to:
- Define and update plannings
- Report on progress (KPI) to project and industrial management
- Deal with the project priorities
- Participate to internal and external progress reviews (other internal departments, customers,…)
- Participate to risk analysis, lessons learn …
Professional profile required - Qualification / Competencies / Experience / Skills -
- Degree/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Previous experience of leading production teams, mainly involved in electrical manufacturing process if possible.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering processes and technical standards
- Experience of introducing processes that follow lean principles
- Experience of process validation
- Good problem solving & analytical skills
- Computer & IT knowledge: MS Office tools, ERP systems and 2D or 3D CAD (CATIA)
- Good Written & Verbal communication skills (English: Upper Intermediate B2, German: optional)
