Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Operations, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for creating, documenting, developing and implementing procedures used to assemble, process, test and manufacture the company’s products. Improve overall manufacturing efficiencies and throughput via process development, scheduling, process documentation, product assembly and production processing, problem solving and program management. Design, install and debug tooling and capital equipment.

Responsibilities of Position:

* Generation of product work instructions, standard operating procedures, equipment operating procedures, visual aids and build routings

* Generation of product bill of materials, assignment of make/buy execution plans and other required Material Requirements Planning (MRP) coding

* Participate in design reviews of documentation for determination of production readiness

* Participate on Materials Review Board (MRB) for disposition of discrepant material on assigned projects

* Determination of product throughput requirements and associated tooling & equipment needed to realize schedule

* Productivity improvements to minimize cost of production

* Tooling and equipment design and/or selection required for production builds of hardware

* Conduct manufacturing operator training for specialty job skills

Qualifications

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

* Thorough knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations pertaining to execution of US Government contracts.

* Thorough understanding of MRP basics, knowledge of DELTEK Cost Point software system desired but not required.

* Basic skills in drawing interpretation that include the ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

* Understanding of how bills of material are constructed and coded for product material ordering and fabrication.

* Ability to work with Design Engineers on developmental and production products.

* Basic knowledge of Electronics and Mechanical systems a plus.

* Ability to cost estimate product build and testing times based on time studies and historical actuals incurred on previous hardware builds

Experience/Education Required/Sought:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment desired but not mandatory.
