Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manufacturing

* Estimate and coordinate project cost and budget; achieve budget and schedule project goals.
* Participate in process to review customer orders for configuration and performance requirements and correctness.
* Generate new part numbers, and develop and ensure accuracy of the Bill of Manufacturing (BOM). Develop and ensure the accuracy of manufacturing routers.
* Provide technical support to manufacturing and participate in failure analysis efforts including for systems under environmental conditions to assist design engineers in the assessment of cause, and identification of corrective actions. Interface with Quality Assurance regarding root cause/corrective actions for non-conformances. Document and implement improvements to the processes or designs to prevent re-occurrence of failures.
* Initiate engineering change orders (ECO) and participate in change control board.
* Ensure compliance with current external and internal certifications such as ISO9001 and AS9100. Lead and or Participate in LEAN and SixSigma activities.

Customer Technical Support

* Provide customer same day response to initial technical inquiries and follow up with a detailed plan of action where necessary.
* Develop comprehensive test plans and obtain approvals from customer.
* Organize the repair process to ensure customers products are repaired in a timely manner.
* Troubleshoot manufacturing in relation to customer problems; provide feedback for interpretation or recommended solutions.

Product Test

* Plan improvement projects in product testing and drive equipment improvement quotes/proposals through the system.
* Prepare test procedures; develop assembly and test guides and engineering drawings for equipment.
* Identify equipment needs that enable state of the art assembly and test procedures. Perform analog and digital circuit design for test equipment. Develop, modify and test software products (Visual Basic, C++, and Linux).
* Act as technical Subject Matter Expert consultant to Manufacturing and liaison with Design Engineering, and determine requirements to implement associated testing and validation tasks. Develop initial concept designs for testing design margins and specification verification for products, including environmental and safety issues.
* Generate test reports and documentation.
* Assist in defining product design and performance requirements. Perform as key contributor to Design Reviews.

Qualifications

Broad knowledge of Electrical Engineering. Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a electrical engineering, BSEE required. Experience with applicable responsibility and accomplishments in related technology and Engineering environment. Customer Service/support experience required. Proficiency in the use of personal computer with report writing skills needed.

5-7 years related experience in a commercial, low volume – high mix manufacturing environment with 3-5 years manufacturing experience. MS Powerpoint, Project, Excel work required. CAD experience in SOLIDWORKS or equivalent preferred.
