About Your Job:

As a Manager Unit Load Device (ULD) you will be responsible to ensure that Qatar Airways (QR) have a sufficient ULD stock to meet the business needs for both baggage and cargo and to ensure the balance of flow of ULD within the network is managed smoothly and effectively. You will ensure the strategic planning of the ULD stock is managed through its full cycle to sustain the fleet growth and network development. 

Accountability :

  • Proactively monitor the business patterns and seasonality to ensure we adjust stock levels to meet the station demands.
  • Ensure the operational and handling requirements of ULDs are suitably covered in the GHAs and supplier contracts.
  • To order and manage the consumption of consumables, working with the stakeholders to ensure necessary control mechanisms are managed to minimize loss/waste.
  • To constantly manage and assess cost controls for all areas of ULDs, consumable and support products for the business.
  • Prepare budgets for ULDs, equipment’s and consumables on an annual basis.
  • Monitor and manage ULD KPIs and ensure SLA compliance in accordance with other stakeholders for GHAs, trucking companies and other suppliers.
  • Develop robust processes for delivery of consumables and monitor trend analysis of usage/abuse and produce reports for stations and regions to show ULD and consumable levels.
  • Develop ULD matrix to identify new requirements for fleet growth based on aircraft, route, product flows and other contributing factors.
  • Manage safety performance indicators related to ULD condition and repair process.
  • Ensure all necessary ULD messaging is maintained and monitored and ensure deviation/ discrepancy processes are in place.
  • To ensure collaboration with other airlines and partners on distribution of ULDs across the network and support the charter operations with ULD stocks.

 

About You:

You will have a minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent thereof, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in ULD management for a large fleet. You will ideally come from an Airline Cargo environment and must come with proven expertise of modern ULD technology, systems, standards and usage for narrow and wide body aircraft types.

You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment. You will have the management ability to delegate work, set clear directions and motivate a team for continuous success, while having the capability to present to senior management level through regular reporting. Experience with Budget for ULD purchase, repair and maintenance plans for current and new routes is also desirable.
