MANAGER SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

We are searching for a Manager Software Engineering for our Anaheim, CA location.
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled software developers to meet overall business objectives within an Agile environment. S/he will provide functional and technical direction while enhancing and expanding capabilities of the software team.
Additional and Specific Responsibilities Include:
* Managing the software design and development processes including requirements analysis, specifications, design, implementation and development.
* Driving efficient processes, creating best practices for software development as well as performing code and design reviews.
* Collaborating with other Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Power, and Project Engineering to ensure effective product development through optimizing engineering assignments across the development organization.
* Identifying and establishing development processes and standards to enhance productivity and performance of the team.
* Providing mentorship, coaching and guidance to team members with respect to career development and opportunities for growth.
* Contributing with code development on projects as required.
* Participate in the recruitment process (candidate interviews and evaluations) for additional software engineers.

The successful candidate(s) will possess:
*
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering. (A Master’s degree is desired but not required.)
*
At least 10 years of technical experience in software development (C#, C++, or embedded) with at least 5 year of recent experience as a functional manager of a software development team with 10 or more engineers.
*
1-2 years of experience working within an Agile development environment is highly desirable.
*
IEEE 12207 experience or equivalent
*
US Citizenship
*
A
bility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (DOD Secret minimum).
*
Development experience in Power Distribution Systems would be beneficial.
*
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant’s skills, education and experience.
