About Your Job

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring crew plans are coordinated and all conflicts or issues are resolved or have contingency plans prior to hand over to Day of Operations Crew Control.  This is a critical role in the operational structure for improving the operations plan, avoiding last minute and potentially costly solutions to planning issues and recovery from major disruption.   The Pre-Operations Team will take control of the commercial schedule and crew rosters in the pre-operations time window and manage any changes and requests that affect these plans. This includes coordination with the commercial, engineering, cargo corporate planning, and ground handling teams, dealing with charter requests and managing roster crew changes. 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring that roster maintenance and pre-operations activities adhere to current QCAA and future EASA regulations and QR standards and requirements are understood and adhered to by all staff members within the department
  • Conducting regular detailed audits of business process and records, and support correction of identified action items
  • Delegating effective authority to Senior Officer Pre-Operations on duty so that the daily operational activities may be carried out seamlessly
  • Monitoring operational status and contingency plans prepared for the pre-operations activities in terms of manpower requirements
  • Ensuring that staff provide quality face-to-face and telephone support services for operational roster-related crew matters
  • Seeking feedback and analysing information to find ways to improve business process and suggest the same ensuring cost-effectiveness
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelors Degree combined with at least eight years of job-related experience.  A minimum of five years should have been gained in an airline.   You will have highly developed planning, analytical and problem-solving skills and will need to fully understand commercial schedules, engineering, crew rosters and OCC functions and must have prior experience in an airline/crew management system such as AIMS. You will also need a solid grasp of commercial impacts and financial/budgetary work.  Proven negotiating and influencing capability along with sound team management, coaching and mentoring skills is required.
