Manager Flight Operations Manuals Integration

The way we work across TUI Group Airlines is changing. Our goal in Flight Operations Procedures is to be a single service provider to TUI Airlines for all operating policies, documentation, performance tools and flight operations support. We will develop and improve compliant and consistent operating policies and procedures for flight and cabin crew. The team will also drive best practice in fuel and environment management in order to deliver the TUI Group Sustainable Development objectives.

The main purpose of this role is to establish and ensure the manuals standards for all TUI operational manuals. You are responsible for the integration of all existing TUI airline manuals into one single TUI group Flight Operations Manual library for all four airlines. You will manage the manuals revision cycle and secure all processes required for on time delivery of manuals. You are responsible for the Group Document Management System (DMS), and will work closely with IT to define and maintain system requirements, and identify and implement improvements.

What will you be doing?

  • You will work alongside all Managers Flight Operations Manual to catalogue all existing manuals within each airline and study optimum use across TUI Aviation.
  • You will define and implement a plan to integrate all TUI Flight Operations procedures into a single document management structure.
  • You will establish the TUI flight operations manual standards, including consistent formatting and wording for all documentation.
  • You will lead the transition and migration of existing company manuals to the document management system.
  • You will have the responsibility for directing the activities of a representative from each airline flight operations teams, who will dedicate a proportion of their time to document management activities.
  • You will ensure the end-to-end development of consistent and compliant operating manuals for the pilots and cabin crew, as well as making these available to pilots and crew.
  • You will be responsible for developing and providing consistent tools for manual development to other operational functions. 
  • You will co-ordinate with other departments across TUI Aviation such as Flight Operations, Ground Operations and Engineering & Maintenance to ensure that they are all using the Document Management System to their advantage.
  • You will work with a new team within an open, honest culture with exceptional employee engagement.
  • You will ensure on time delivery of the manuals.
  • You will work with Aviation IT to ensure its operation meets the requirements of TUI Aviation Airline Operations.
  • You will identify system improvements and refinements, including those identified by end users of the system across the four airlines.
  • You will be responsible for developing and motivating the team to deliver high quality output, and ensure application of agreed timescales.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment with accountability for production, integration and publication of manuals.
  • Experience of managing large scale projects across a geographically dispersed, matrix organisation.
  • Ability to work to a regulated timetable of activities.
  • Confidence as the business owner of an IT tool.
  • A proactive people manager, with experience in working with teams from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Able to motivate colleagues from other teams to deliver to specific goals and objectives, often under pressurized timescales.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders in different departments. 
  • Confidence in developing business cases and change plans. 
  • Experience of planning and coordinating complex actions plans.
  • Working under pressure to maintain stakeholder engagement 
  • An autonomous, proactive and flexible leader who in ambiguous and changing environments adapts behaviours to ensure focus on a specific goal
  • Insightful appreciation of the formal and informal influences and structures within an organisation
  • Cultural sensitivity, with experience of working as part of a pan-European team
  • Able to operate as a trusted partner to multiple source markets, and to influence the application of common solutions and best practice in all airlines
  • Strong business English is mandatory and fluency in other European languages an advantage
