Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Associate Director, Gating and Airport Flow, this leadership role is responsible for a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of aircraft on GTAA controlled aprons. They will be accountable to investigate and respond to apron safety issues or preventing safety issues through a Safety Management System (SMS).

* Responsible for the delivery of aircraft flow that is safe, orderly and expeditious using procedures/policies through an advisory service for all GTAA controlled aprons

* Commit to and deliver on the people manager promise to support and further the business’ vision through building and development of diverse, multi-skilled teams

* Investigate and respond to apron safety issues through a Safety Management System(SMS) and execute hazard identification for all new proposed changes

* Coordinate and establish a training program for all new/current Apron Officers and manage quality control within the unit

* Facilitate discussions and working relations between GTAA, Nav Canada and airline customers regarding apron operational items

* Develop and manage annual budget and business plan aligned to the Corporate Strategic Plan

* Support in the required change management within Apron Management Units, policies and procedures, training and development, data management, quality control, and KPI management when existing operational work processes, procedures and practices require change/updating to support an A-CDM operating environment

* Responsible for being a customer centric leader with respect to the mission, vision, values and beliefs

Qualifications

* Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Aviation Management, or a combination of education and relevant experience

* Minimum 5 years of experience in a Management role and capacity

* Minimum 3 years of experience as a people leader in a unionized environment preferred

* Experience with aircraft movement, gate management and Airport Collaborative Decision Making(A-CDM) preferred

* Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment

* Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong attention to detail and timely problem solving as needed

* Strong technical savvy combined with MS Office suite

* Ability to influence without authority

* Ability to communicate in a fast-paced environment

* Good problem-solving skills

* Strong understanding of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM), the role that the Apron Management Unit plays, and the ability to become an A-CDM Champion
