MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ROLE:
Responsible for troubleshooting, performing repairing or preventive maintenance, and inspections of Ceramic Chemical Vapor Infiltration furnaces and lab equipment. Assists with equipment upgrade activities and development of P&IDs and Standard Operating Procedures. At times, provide support (as needed) for maintaining other production machinery, systems and plant support equipment with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Full knowledge of all aspects of facility maintenance including: inspection, predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical production and process equipment.
•Proficient in the adjustment and repair of Vacuum pumps, instrumentation repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC electrical, electronics (PLC/DCS), and general plumbing.
•Proficient in systematic trouble shooting / root cause analysis to determining appropriate repair methods.
•Use appropriate equipment and tools to perform job functions safely. Install, repair, and rebuild production machinery, production systems and plant support equipment as required.
•Able and willing to work cooperatively and collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximize production capacity. Responsible for notifying supervision when spare parts and supply inventories are low and make recommendation for quantities required.
•Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers; dial indicators and meters to assist in the diagnostics and repair of equipment.
•Perform general pipe fitting tasks, plumbing tasks and electrical tasks as required to maintain the facility and production equipment. Must operate a forklift when required.
•Report all accidents, incidents, and injuries, as well as unsafe work conditions or practices to supervisor immediately. Participate in safety campaigns, meetings, and inspections. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in all areas of responsibility. Comply with all Carbon Products EH&S policies and procedures, including personal protective equipment use, housekeeping standards, and EH&S training requirements.
•Able and willing to prioritize continuous improvement activities.
Education / Certifications:
•High School Diploma, or equivalent
Preferred:
Associate’s/Technical Degree (two years)
Experience/Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
•7 years journeyman level electro-mechanical repair experience
•Proficient in designing and installing instrumentation components and control systems
•Troubleshooting using technical manuals and P&IDs
•Machine repair using basic hand tools
•Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements
•TPM Experience
•Basic computer skills (Data Entry, Email, Machine Interface)
