About the Job

We are conducting a retained search for a Learning & Development Manager to be appointed with our high-profile client in the defence sector based in the Middle East.  The primary purpose of the role will be to coordinate, implement and deliver L&D activities with the aim of ensuring that both L&D strategic and operational initiatives are achieved.

About the Job

Your primary responsibilities as Learning & Development Manager will be to deliver behavioural skills training courses to specified standards, leading or participating in the design and development of appropriate learning initiatives, courses, intervention materials, and evaluation processes.  In addition, you will support management teams, functional leads, and Talent Management team by undertaking training needs analysis to identify gaps, facilitating the production of annual training plans to address these gaps and providing professional learning and development advice and solutions as required.

About the Person

To succeed in this position, you will most certainly need to possess a sense of adventure and, be able to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and pragmatism.  Whilst it isn’t essential, you will most likely be educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field and possess experience in training and management of staff; this includes delivery, delegation, team building and performance management.

This Learning & Development Manager role will require that you are up to date in UK employment law, therefore, if you have a background specialising in employee relations, you would be at a distinct advantage.  Above all, you will be expected to demonstrate effective consultation, communication and negotiation skills with a Senior Management Team, often up to VP level, whilst building effective working relationships.

The Reward

The salary for the Learning & Development Manager is expected to be circa £50k-£60 tax-free with flights provided and high-quality accommodation provided free of charge, first-class primary care medical facilities as well as a range of excellent recreation facilities on a secure compound.  This is a unique opportunity with an excellent reward package with a well-established and successful organisation.
