The Retrofits Mods and Upgrades) RMU COE within the ES team of Honeywell Aerospace has an immediate need for a Lead Systems Engineers. The RMU LSE achieves the overall STC by assessing technical feasibility, designing a solution for the aftermarket aircraft platforms and successful execution of the engineering work on these projects, and being the technical expert on the project including reviewing the technical work by subcontractors as applicable. LSE and team will identify and implement any updates or modifications, etc, needed for an installation of a product on a new aircraft type. Engineering resources from the SBU E&T group and/or external subcontractors will be used to perform these modifications, as appropriate. The Systems Engineer’s focus will be to work closely with engineering groups, Channel Partners and customers to achieve the aircraft certification.
Responsibilities include
• Aircraft Platform Technical Expertise: knowledge and understanding of the technical needs of SBU/GBE products within a range of Aircraft platforms. Should be able to advise business planning on what is possible technically across a range of BGA, ATR and D&S aircraft.
• Concept Validation/Partner technical discussions: supports PM/PE in pre-contract discussions with customers and channel partners to ensure that the program approach is technically feasible. Consults into the SBU E&T organization to support the discussions as required.
• RMU Program Definition: supports Project Engineer in deriving project Work-Scope required and defining Work Packages.
• Requirements Management: analysis and translation of customer requirements/industry standard into System & equipment level specifications. Preparation of specification documents including, hardware and software requirement specifications, ICD’s, traceability & impact analysis of changes to the requirements.
• Systems Integration & Test (SI&T): close co-operation with hardware and software design/development teams to ensure requirements are implemented efficiently and are testable and verifiable. Developing and implementing System integration test plans and procedures.
• Verification and Certification Support: provides consultation and input to the certification group in its preparation of verification and certification documents and artifacts.
Position Complexity:
• Work throughout the RMU organization and across the ECOE and multiple sites (both domestic and global).
• Work with ESEA, Advanced Technology, and MPM organizations for coordination of initiatives and roadmaps
• Work the development of common system development processes to improve organizational effectiveness.
• Work with and participate on industry teams, councils, and user groups.
• Demonstrate flexibility to coordinate/communicate with global team members, including support outside of core hours.

Must Have:
• Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
We Value:
• Minimum 8 years experience with systems development
o Experience in securing RTCA/DO-178B S/W certification.
o Experience in working with FAA or EASA to secure certification.
o Experience with RTCA/DO-254 H/W certification and RTCA/DO-210
o Experience with ABD and D6, ARNIC 781/791 standards.
o Experience with RTCA/DO-160 and other environmental test standards.
o Experience in requirements management and DOORS.
o Excellent Leadership and management skills
o Good communication skills (written/presentation)
o Experience with Inmarsat or Iridium standards
o Experience in network protocols – e.g., TCP/IP, SNMP, TFTP,ISDN, NAT/PAT, Cisco IOS
o Experience in various interfaces – ARINC, RS-232, RS-42, USB, Ethernet
o Experience in Antenna & RADOME design desirable.
o Experience in routers design desirable.
