JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Summary:
GE Aviation is looking for Mechanical Design Engineers to support our fast-growing Advanced Military Engineering business. The Lead Engineer will own hardware in the CDN / Duct Module. In addition, the engineer will also support weight reduction efforts and test support. The Lead Engineer will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

* Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project

* Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

* Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues

* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university

* A minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering position

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

* Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Desired Characteristics:

* Active government security clearance

* Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Problem analysis and resolution skills

* Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work

* CAD / CAM, ANSYS experience

* Thinking out of the box, creativity

* PC proficiency
