Chevron Aircraft Maintenance has an opening for a Lead Cabin Mechanic to assist our Licensed B1/B2 Engineers and supervise our Cabin Mechanics/Assistant Mechanics with the ongoing work taking place in our base maintenance hangar at Prestwick. This is a permanent role working a Monday – Friday shift pattern.

In addition to supervising the cabin and assistant mechanics you will also be required to assist with the removal and refitting of carpets, floor boards, seats and other areas within the cabin.

 List of responsibilities:

 

1.       Assist Licensed Tech (B1/B2 Engineer) in the control and efficient progression of work within the aircraft cabin zone.

2.       Raise spares requests.

3.       Guide and instruct cabin and assistant mechanics in all aspects of the role including aircraft maintenance manual and CAFAM use.

4.       Ensure Health & Safety, company procedures, aircraft maintenance manual etc. are applied.

5.       Ensure all paperwork is completed and signed for.

6.       Work closely with licensed tech (B1/B2 Engineer) in order to prevent time wastage due to unnecessary delays, interruptions and duplicate work.

7.       Oversee cabin and assistant mechanics to ensure the work area and hangar is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Strictly enforce good housekeeping practices at all times with an objective of securing an environment conducive to employee well-being.

8.       Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and handled by cabin mechanics and assistant mechanics for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear. Require mechanics to report any tool malfunction promptly to the stores with supporting documentation as per the company’s processes.

9.       Deal with customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner, and to see it that all personnel behave accordingly

10.   To lead by example at all times; through professional behavior, integrity, commitment to the company and compliance with its policies.

11.   Monitor absences and sickness, completing return to work interviews
