Junior Buyer/Material Controller - Plymouth

British International Helicopters Services Limited is currently looking to recruit a Junior Buyer/Material Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team of professionals based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be a motivated professional with high individual standards.

Shift patterns/hours: Mon-Fri. 37.5 hrs per week.

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the successful candidate must be: punctual, conscientious and have the capability to organise their workload and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

We are looking for an effective team player, who is capable of working as part of a small dedicated team and who has the ability to interact well with their customers, suppliers, colleagues and the wider business. Previous logistics and admin experience is essential with an aviation background being an advantage.

Job Description:

Primary function: Supporting the Engineering and Operations Department which will include:

• Assist with Ordering consumable and non-stock items and parts, POL, nuts, bots washers etc.

• Progress chase orders with vendors

• Check and clear invoice queries with accounts

• Maintain forecasted delivery dates

• Liaise with vendors to resolve discrepancies with deliveries

• Assist with general duties as required with the smooth running of the Logistics and stores function within the company

• Deal with customs import and export clearance

• Maintain records keeping information up to date

Essential:

• Previous logistics & admin experience

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Good organisational skills

• Ability to communicate with other departments and vendors

• Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office

• Knowledge of supply chain principles

Desirable:

• Aviation background.

• Previous purchasing experience

• Customs & Excise and Shipping experience

Salary £18000 - £20000 dependent on experience.
