Reporting to the Jetstar Operations Control Centre Duty Manager (Manager on Shift), the Operations Controller is responsible for maintaining the integrity of company operations by co-ordinating resources, minimising disruptions, optimising customer service, cost and resource utilisation, whilst ensuring the requirements of engineering, commercial, flight operations and airports met. This role will also ensure the functions of the Operations Control Area are performed and maintained to a high standard of safety and efficiency in compliance with the requirements of the Company Operations Manual.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

* Provide timely and accurate information and effectively communicate this within the Operations team/Crewing team

* Monitor aircraft movement maintain schedule integrity around on-time performance for both the Domestic and International network

* Co-ordinate with Jetstar and Qantas Maintenance Control to action both planned and unplanned fleet maintenance into the flying schedule.

* Effectively co-ordinate operational requirements during disruptions

* Maintain regular communication with down line ports during disruptions

* Ensure slot compliance through liaison with Air Services Australia and using the METRON web site interface

* Co-ordinate operational requirements and resources in the absence of JOCC Duty Manager

* Effectively communicate with the commercial support area with regards to customer recovery and customer flow during disruption

* Ensure the safety and security of all people, assets, systems and procedures engaged in or associated with the airline through compliance with Jetstar policy & procedures

* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of statistical data and reports (as and when required)

To be considered for this role you will have:

* Extensive experience and knowledge of airline operations and aviation legislation.

* Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office

* Present a professional image within the Operations team by contributing ideas, solutions and being pro-active at all times

* Highly motivated, driven by goals

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to use initiative

* Customer focussed

* Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills

* Excellent problem solving skills
