The Procurement intern is expected to develop an understanding of the UTC aerospace business and support internal and external customers as required. This individual is the focal point for procurement activities with assigned suppliers. Specific responsibilities include building supplier relationships, learning to utilize supply chain tools, learning to execute the request for quote process, and purchase order placement, under supervision from more senior associates. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to on time delivery assurance, support of organizational financial goals and strategy, supplier quality planning assistance, supporting participant in long term agreement (LTA) process, and building fundamental supply chain competencies. Manage transition of parts from spot buy status to long term agreements. This involves working closely with quality, engineering, design, export, contracts, legal and compliance. It also involves data collection and review, negotiations (with assistance), contract maintenance and system updates. This offers the opportunity for exposure to many different disciplines within the UTAS environment. The individual will be required to support and participate in a team environment. The individual will be an active participant in their skill development and learn to perform in a continuous improvement environment. Must have excellent computer skills and understand use of Excel.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Education Must be enrolled at an accredited institution while maintaining a 3.0 GPA
