Intern Network Market Analytics

Position description

The Network & Market Analytics team is responsible for the tools, methods, KPIs and reporting within the Network & Partnership Management department of the Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa.

In addition to supporting the other teams of the department as internal customers, the Network & Market Analytics team is leading the initiative to align Network & Partnership KPIs and methods and to develop harmonized and automated tools for all Hub Airlines.

As an intern, you will support the team during the implementation of various standardization and automation projects within Network Management (the Network Management teams in the different hubs are responsible for the continuous development and optimization of the route networks of the three airlines) with focus on route profitability estimation.

Your Duties

* Participation in the development of Network Management tools with a focus on new methods (machine learning & artificial intelligence) as well as data sources
* Support of various other projects focusing on the harmonization of KPIs, reports and methods
* Collaboration with the Network Management teams as well as other interfaces in the four hubs, also on-site in Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna
* Creation of data analyses, reports and presentations, partly including statistical methods

Requirements

* Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering/technics, natural sciences, computer science, mathematics, economics or business administration
* Excellent English, German or other languages of advantage
* Interest in and affinity for data, figures and analytics
* Conceptual and structural thinking
* Very good Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
* Experience in programming, statistical methods and project management of advantage
