Job Role:

The overall purpose and objective of this position is to develop, deliver and evaluate a range of training programs (Carriage of Dangerous Goods (IATA CAT 1/2/6/8/10/11/12), Lithium Batteries, Live Animals, Pharmaceuticals and other Temperature-Sensitive Cargo, Cargo Build-up (Palletization), Airmail) and to support the overall activities of Ground Training.

Task Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training in accordance with course schedule by applying appropriate instructional techniques
  • Maintain course material for allocated courses by ensuring materials reflect current procedures, policies and best practices and ensuring materials are in line with regulatory (e.g. EASA Air Ops/IATA/ICAO) standards
  • Evaluate allocated courses and own performance by collecting, analysing feedback data from all course participants and identifying improvement areas
  • Maintain technical knowledge by keeping contact with relevant operational areas and participating in appropriate training and conferences
  • Support the administration of the department by assisting with course scheduling, carrying out general administrative duties as required, providing suggestions for service improvement and dealing with customer queries

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience within the air cargo industry with a major airline or forwarder
  • Previous experience in similar position is an advantage
  • Be expert in the carriage of Dangerous Goods (IATA CAT6)
  • Have good knowledge about the carriage of live animals and pharmaceutical products
  • Have good knowledge about cargo build-up
  • Be quality-oriented and customer-minded
  • Have team spirit and be able to work in an independent way
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change within a fast paced environment
  • Be proactive and take initiatives
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Working conditions:

  • A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
  • Position based in Luxembourg
  • Frequent travel required within the entire Cargolux network
