Position Purpose

Provide support to the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity team, enhancing Sydney Airport’s ability to efficiently and effectively plan and prepare for incidents and emergency situations. Assist the resilience team in ensuring that all compliance, risk and audit items are appropriately actioned and carried out against the strategic plan. Partner with the broad stakeholder group and assist with the development and review of policies, plans and procedures and ensure compliance across the resilience and business continuity portfolios.

Key Accountabilities

1. Assist the Resilience Manager with the management of the strategic plan, ensuring that all items with respect to the operational planning and logistics of exercises, drills, and desktops are appropriately managed against the CASA Manual of Standards. Manage specific strategic items when required or delegated to do so.

2. Assist with the management of the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), ensuring that a holistic and scalable approach to incidents and emergencies is achieved on a continual basis.

3. Partner with critical internal Sydney Airport stakeholders such as the Manager Integrated Operations, Security, Manage Airfield Operations and Compliance, Terminal Precinct Managers, Baggage and Bussing operators. Ensure that their teams are adequately informed around their roles and responsibilities to manage the initial hours of an incident or emergency response.

4. Build and maintain effective partnerships with the airport community regarding emergency management and planning, including emergency service organisations, airlines, tenants, law enforcement authorities and regulatory agencies to maximise opportunities for improvement.

5. Assist the Resilience Manager in continual improvement initiatives for the resilience function by undertaking reviews of processes, conducting tasks for new vision projects, technology enhancements, and operational dashboard improvements.

6. Work with the Safety Training and Compliance Manager to undertake periodical reviews of training. Assist with the management of training content, ensuring compliance against relevant regulations.

7. Attend the Airport Emergency Committee meetings, and sub committees, as required. Present information if requested. Provide assistance with the management of minutes, invitations, and general coordination activities.

8. Assist the Resilience Manager in the ongoing quality compliance and assurance program (internal audits), ensuring a robust program is established and maintained for EM facilities and business continuity equipment.

9. Act as the Resilience Manager during extended leave periods (upon request).

10. Assist the WHS, Aviation Safety, and Terminal team’s teams with operational or peak workload activities that may be required from time to time.

11. Compile statistical information and provide other analytical support to coordinate emergency management data to generate written and verbal reports to internal managers and external agencies, and emergency and/or WHS committees.

12. Assist in the preparation, dissemination and review of fire and evacuation documents.

13. Assist with the preparation of presentations

14. Ensure records management, contact lists and notification protocols are current and compliant.

15. Assist with the management of the team’s corporate risk register.

16. Provide operational support as directed in the event of an activation of the AEP.

17. Ensure all work practices are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and policies in respect to WHS, EEO and Environmental responsibilities.

Qualifications & Knowledge

* Worked within the aviation industry for a minimum of two years. Holds an Aviation Degree or similar.

* Previous stakeholder management and change management experience.

* Ability to operate the financial and procurement system

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

* Ability and knowledge in preparing reports, proposals, plans and procedures

* Statistical analysis

* Previous experience in emergency management, security or a customer service role

* Experience in the design and delivery of training and exercises

* Knowledge of the Airport Operational environment

* Ability to obtain an airside driver’s licence
