Description
Based in Whitby, Ontario, you will serve as the point of contact for employees. In addition, you will post positions, offer letters and new employee packet. You will also conduct phone screens, face to face interviews, new hire orientations and exit interviews.
In your role you will:
- Administer employee relations services to employees in all career path positions;
- Determine qualifications for promotions, administer reductions in work force and provide counseling to employees in disciplinary situations;
- Manage processing of payroll for Mississauga, Ottawa, Toronto Operations and Toronto Maintenance;
- Assist with succession planning, recruitment, orientation, exempt and nonexempt personnel, administration of related testing and qualification and job descriptions for all positions;
- Participate in all HR related initiatives;
- Oversee job card system, coordination of employee movement, maintenance of employee files, coordination of communication boards and special events such as all employee meetings, training and information sessions and community relations.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate:
- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or in other related field;
- You have experience in a large unionized setting;
- You own experience with the interpretation and application of employment legislation, collective agreement and policy provisions;
- You own experience with HRMS particularly Kronos and Success Factors (considered as an asset);
- You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, fluent in French and Spanish (considered as an asset).
