Human Factors Engineer required to provide HF input into Submarine Platform and Site Safety Cases. The key performance area of this role is to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders to consider and ensure adequate consideration of human performance and human reliability in the conduct of safety critical tasks. In some instances various shifts and 7-day working arrangements may apply.

We are looking for people with recent experience of Human Reliability Assessment (HRA), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Machine Interaction (HMI) and workplace / workspace assessment, anthropometry etc. We are looking for people with experience of using Human Factors tools and techniques such as Therp, Sherpa etc for HRA, rapid prototyping tools for HCI, task analysis, user trials, data collection and analysis techniques.

The successful applicant should ideally have either a Human Factors/Ergonomics and/or Safety related qualifications and be able to provide detailed human error analysis in support of Submarine and Site Safety Cases, including attendance at HAZOPs and other associated meetings. Applicants should have previously worked upon Safety Cases. Ideally with site licensing regulations, such as Nuclear Site Licenses and/or COMAH regulations. Specifically addressing human factors / human reliability analysis of safety critical tasks.
