Blue Islands is a privately and independently owned Channel Islands based regional airline, with an all ATR fleet comprising of ATR 72 and ATR 42 aircraft and employs 100 people across its bases in Guernsey and Jersey. Blue Islands became a Flybe franchise partner in 2016, operating flights in Flybe branded aircraft between the Channel Islands and to the UK. Further to its scheduled operation, Blue Islands operates series and ad-hoc charters throughout the UK and Europe.
Blue Islands is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Operational Control Centre (HOCC) to join its team at Jersey Airport.
Managing five aircraft and 70 crew to operate 10,000 flights and carry 380,000 customers per year is just part of what the Blue Islands Operations Control Centre (OCC) does.
Reporting to the Flight Operation Director, the HOCC is responsible for all aspects of the management of ground operations and the OCC in a fast-paced environment, adapting to ever changing situations.
The HOCC will have 3-5 years’ demonstrable experience in a similar role and will manage developing, leading and directing all aspects of the efficient administration of the OCC, together with promotion of the organisational safety culture.
Clear communication of complex subjects is essential, and you will be able to develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure third party suppliers extend the high-standards of Blue Islands service to its customers at various touch points.
The role incorporates the Ground Operations Director position, as such you will need to successfully complete the CAA interview process required for this Management Personnel role.
