Job Role:

Argo Aviation International are currently recruiting for Senior Aerospace – Head of Engineering for a permanent position based in UAE.

The Head of Engineering Design is responsible for all design activities carried by engineering team and handles the of development & sustainment of the DOA (Design Organization Approval).

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manages all Engineering aspects relevant to the following Design department which is divided in 3

sections: a) Design b) Tooling & Equipment & c) Repairs Engineering, considering all are at the highest level of compliance to the aerospace airworthiness standards  EASA / FAA Part 21 or equivalent.

Responsible for technical and non-technical data production, testing, verification, analysis, coordination and management of design execution, i.e. development, manufacturing, simulation/testing and certification efforts.

Manages the Repairs Engineering Function within department, where any repair undergoes stringent

design constraints and certification.

Leads all the R & D efforts and Reverse Engineering within the design department in order to avoid Obsolescence with Customer Aircraft.

Manages the design, development, testing and certification activities for tools & Equipment to support the MRO.

Manages development of the certification activities for new special processes & Engineering methods for the MRO.

Innovatively builds PMA (Part Manufacturer Approval) or equivalent capability within the organisation (MRO).

Leads LRU (Line replacement unit) level engineering in technological improvement context (process ,repair, manufacturing, test etc.) activities.

Manages and monitors system level engineering activities i.e. (design, validation, qualification, test etc.) in order to meet all compliance requirements and provides the customer solutions which are achievable, cost effective and compliant with authorities.

Develops technical, financial, resource, programmatic and content management plans for the Design Department.

Leads the Technical / Design relevant liaison with OEMs (Original Equipment manufacturers) and

suppliers as required.

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical, avionics or similar engineering disciplines.

Graduate of an aviation or military school and / or holding an MS/ MBA is a plus

Minimum 10-15 years of related experience with at least 5 years in the following areas; military aviation services, particularly in the military aircraft maintenance, repair environment and related overhaul programs, engineering changes/aircraft systems, modifications and other aircraft related engineering, including; design, repair, modification certification, testing, etc. and similar development.

 

 

 

 

Professional Skills:

Strong knowledge of the MRO and military aviation business environment

Must have extensive experience in a Design Organization, where extensive knowhow can be reflected around internal growth and development of PART 21 certification and DOA, PMA approvals at least.

Must Possess extensive experience and expertise in the field of engineering support, its materials and various maintenance aspects like planning, production, testing, certification etc.

Knowledge in design and analysis techniques (software/hardware) and familiar with the critical structural & mechanical systems, components for different types of aircraft and/or helicopters.

Good experience in organizational, intermediate and depot level engineering support including planning ,quality and military aircraft trades as applicable to the section.

Possess a high degree of professional maturity capable of providing technical and administrative

direction or advice for the others and related functions supporting engineering.

Qualified to support Engineering department with his/her trade requirements.

Logistics support, planning, certification, system, design, and field support engineering experience will be a high plus.

Excellent technical knowledge of aircraft related engineering and technical experience with this aircraft platform (fixed wing/rotary) and its operational disciplines like planning, maintenance, reliability, safety, airworthiness, Verification, DER, DAR, CVE etc.) aspects.

Ability to establish Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and create harmonious work environment.

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), AS9110 and other globally accepted military/civilian aviation standards.

Experienced working in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment

Successful candidates would receive a Married remuneration package to include, housing, children schooling and an above market basic salary.
