In your role, you will:
- Define and drive the Product Development and Engineering platform strategy and architecture, in close alignment with the respective value chain team to fulfill Bombardier’s functional and non-functional domain demand on a global level, translate it into standardized capabilities and building blocks to support business agility at reduced mid- to long-term cost with a 3-10 year impact.
- Be accountable for all services tied to Product Development and Engineering Applications provided on-premises and from the Cloud, ensuring best in class global delivery used by all our employees on a daily basis, fulfilling availability requirements and cost effectiveness for the next 3 years. Act as Escalation Manager for critical issues.
- Guarantee and manage the technical lifecycle of applications and support value chain activation/growth in programs and projects. Ensures operational readiness for new services and changes to existing services. The technical landscape includes over 300 applications, many different support models, technologies and services.
- Manage our key support supplier and other suppliers to ensure availability of all our services. Ensure active integration and coordination of all services. While managing the supplier relationship, the role is accountable for all escalations and continuous improvement for all contracted services.
- Have budget accountability for all Product Development and Engineering Application expenses and applications budgets. This includes software maintenance contracts negotiation, knowledge of license models and requirements and compliance.
- Have the ability to lead a culturally diverse remote team.
- Manage the indirects, along with a significant supplier contribution.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
- You hold a Degree in Computer Science, Economics or similar.
- You have a deep understanding of application technologies and their lifecycle, such as: Siemens Teamcenter (TCE and TCUA), CATIA, JT Viewer, Mentor Graphics and specialized engineering platforms.
- You have a minimum of 10-12 years of application domain experience and a minimum of 5 years in a management role
- You have managed operational budgets of > €10million/year.
- You have experience managing a complex global application eco-system and have provided critical functionality on a continuous basis.
- You have a good understanding of Manufacturing/Engineering industries and their best practices as they relate to engineering technology.
- You have the ability to influence others, regardless of their level within the company.
- You have the ability to communicate facts in a clear and concise manner to top executives as well as system end users.
- You have the ability to simplify complex issues.
- You have the ability to structure and drive decisions that have significant financial impact.
- You have a deep understanding of the challenges with the issues and have the ability to communicate these challenges at the Executive level.
